Bonham Art & Design is pleased to present its July exhibition featuring celebrated international artists, designers and sculptors whose inspiration taken from nature, has informed the organic forms and materiality of their works. This curated collection includes Agrippa (Spain), Ann Weber (USA), Art & Loom (USA), ATRA (USA, MEX), Eelco Hilgersom (The Netherlands) and John Pomp (USA).
A centrepiece of the exhibition is a floor to ceiling chandelier made by John Pomp in Philadelphia. Pomp embraces natural imperfections, creating contemporary lighting pieces influenced by the natural beauty of the living world. Combining elements of materiality, texture and form, his sculptural pieces delicately integrate hand-blown glass and precious metals.
Eelco Hilgersom sees his reflective sculptures as reimagined creatures, using PC lenses to create and shape his brilliant sculptures. The form of each artwork is based on organic shapes and colours and a fascination for architecture and structures constructed in our natural environment.
Spanish designers Agrippa are renown for the quality craftsmanship and sophisticated, sculptural designs. They look to the past to create their heirloom worthy designs, producing unique, hand-crafted pieces featured at the gallery in a radiant, tight-grained walnut.
ATRA creates expertly crafted, contemporary custom furniture. They utilize traditional manufacturing techniques and cutting-edge technology to create objects combining functionality and artistic expression. They have carefully chosen materials that accumulate experiences, designing timeless pieces for the home.
