Erika Cross

Born in Michigan USA, Erika received an MFA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art. Prior to that she studied simultaneously at two universities, earning a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Interior Design at Eastern Michigan University. Upon completing her studies, Erika founded Erika Cross Studios. Since then, she has won a number of prestigious international design awards including Best in Show NYCxDesign 2020 for her Step table.

Her unique aesthetic brings together sculptural forms with utilitarian functionality. Erika creates exceptional solutions out of ordinary problems. Her workshop serves as a laboratory where she experiments with a large variety of materials and enjoys challenging the limitations of convention. She investigates the relationships between object, scale and user through her often humorous and ironic use of materials, such as a giant Anvil made out of cork. Her works are featured in prestigious design exhibitions throughout the world including Dubai Design Fair and and Lake Como Design Festival, Italy.
